ECO WARRIORS

Eco Day 4.png

At Bishop Bridgeman, we care deeply about the environment of our school and the future of our planet. Our eco warriors are empowered to drive change in our school to improve the environmental awareness of other pupils, staff and the community. We are conscious of improving the school environment in a way that raises pupil’s skills, engages the community and links to the curriculum.

The Eco Warriors club provides a unique opportunity that encourages children to lead change within the school and have a positive impact on their community. The club encourages children of all ages and abilities to work together to develop their knowledge and environmental awareness. The club meets weekly on Thursdays and discusses topics ranging from litter picking to gardening. We then get outside and act on those discussions!

We find that Eco Warriors Club has a range of positive impacts on our children, including increased confidence, development of leadership skills, improved children's well-being and behaviour and greater motivation at school. As well as this, the school benefits from reducing our environmental footprint. Our objectives include consuming less water and energy, producing less waste and taking steps towards self sustainability.
