YEAR 2 TRIP TO RIVINGTON

In History, year 2 have been studying about William Hesketh Lever. He was a very important part of Bolton's history and he built the beautiful gardens at Rivington. We had a an amazing time visiting the gardens and exploring their natural beauty. The weather was fantastic as well!

WELCOME BACK!

We would like to welcome all our children, parents and families back to school this week, we have missed you all and can't wait to get the new academic year underway!

YEAR 1 - CURIOUS CRITTERS

YEAR 5 PIZZA WORKSHOP

This week, year 5 have been looking at the different varieties of food in Italy. They decided the best way to do this was to dive in and experience it first hand, by making their own mini pizzas - Italian style!

YEAR 3 VIKING DAY

Year 3 have taken part in a Viking Workshop as part of our Viking, Saxons and Scots topic. The children were given the opportunity to try on and touch Viking artefacts as well as ask our very own Viking Eric Erikson all about what they were used for.

We learnt all about Viking names, families and everyday life. Later we got to look at and learn about Viking weapons and even create our own battle chants!

SMITHILLS ATHLETICS TOURNAMENT

Following on from our 2nd placed finish at the Essa athletics tournament, our year 6 students have once again been out on the track. We participated in a Bolton Schools tournament with 10 other schools to compete in a range of events from javelin to speed bounce. Throughout the event our students showed all the traits we have become accustomed to here at Bishop Bridgeman - competitive spirit, determination, resilience and sportsmanship. After a fantastic day of events, we placed 3rd place and took home our set certificates as well as 3rd place medals.

ESSA ATHLETICS TOURNAMENT

Some of our year 6 athletes took part in the annual athletics tournament at Essa Academy on the 30th January.
Eight different schools from the local area competed in lots of different events including long jump, triple jump, javelin, speed bounce and relay racing.
A huge congratulations to our incredible team who came 2nd overall!

YEAR 4 TRIP TO BOLTON MUSEUM

Last week, year 4 children got the opportunity to visit the Egyptian exhibition at Bolton Museum. We had an amazing time looking at all the artefacts and dressing up in the egyptian costumes. We even got to see a real life mummy!
